Overview

This Privacy Policy explains what information Parrot collects, how it is used, and how it is protected. Parrot is operated by a single developer (swatnfo) and is designed to collect only the minimum data necessary to function. We do not sell or share your data with third parties.

02

What We Collect

Parrot collects and stores the following data to operate its features:

  • Guild (server) IDs — Used to associate settings with your server.
  • Channel and role IDs — Stored when you configure features like moderation logging, welcome messages, reaction roles, and autoroles.
  • User IDs — Stored for XP/level tracking, warnings, giveaway entries, birthdays, and AFK status.
  • Message content (limited) — Automod and anti-raid features temporarily process message content to detect spam or filtered words. This content is not permanently stored.
  • XP and level data — Stored per user per server when leveling is enabled.
  • Warning records — Stored per user per server, including the reason and moderator who issued the warning.
  • Configuration settings — Any settings you configure via the dashboard or bot commands.
03

What We Do Not Collect

  • We do not store passwords. Dashboard login uses Discord OAuth2 — your credentials never pass through our servers.
  • We do not store the full content of regular messages.
  • We do not collect email addresses, IP addresses, or personally identifiable information beyond what Discord provides through its API.
  • We do not use cookies beyond what is required for dashboard session management.
04

How We Use Your Data

Data collected by Parrot is used exclusively to:

  • Operate features you have enabled (moderation, leveling, giveaways, etc.).
  • Maintain your configured server settings across bot restarts.
  • Display information in the web dashboard to authorized server administrators.

Data is never used for advertising, profiling, or any purpose unrelated to bot functionality.

05

Data Retention

Data is retained for as long as Parrot is in your server or until you request deletion. If Parrot is removed from a server, its data is not automatically deleted but will be removed upon request. Temporary data (such as spam detection caches) is cleared automatically within minutes.

06

Data Sharing

We do not sell, trade, or share your data with any third parties. Data is stored on a private server and is only accessible to the bot developer. The only external service we interact with is the Discord API, which is subject to Discord's own Privacy Policy.

07

Dashboard & Sessions

When you log into the Parrot dashboard via Discord OAuth2, we receive your Discord user ID, username, and avatar. This is used solely to authenticate you and display your servers. Session data is stored temporarily in a secure server-side session and expires when you log out or after a period of inactivity.

08

Your Rights

You have the right to:

  • Request deletion — Ask us to delete all data associated with your user ID or your server at any time.
  • Request access — Ask what data is stored for your user ID or server.
  • Opt out — Remove Parrot from your server at any time. Individual features that store data can also be disabled through the dashboard or bot commands.

To exercise any of these rights, contact us in the support server.

09

Security

We take reasonable measures to protect the data we store, including secure database storage and restricted access. No system is completely immune to breaches, but we are committed to keeping your data safe and will notify affected users if a breach occurs.

Changes to This Policy

This policy may be updated from time to time. The date at the top of this page reflects when it was last revised. Significant changes will be announced in the support server.
